...look at me mom...

Just a quick update... I am finally gainfully employed.  On most days I look like this:

(WORKING!!!!)

But then on Saturdays I will look like this:

(teaching yoga)

That's not to mention that I occasionally look like this:

(in training)

Or this:

(Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children)

In short, I wanna do more of this:

(exercise)

Since much of my day is now spent lounging on this:

(my butt)

And then there are these two:

(they obviously require a lot of energy)

Yeah, feeling busy and excited, I am not sure how this will effect my blogging but my goal is that it won't.  Wish me luck!

...Rrrrrrrasterbator...

I may have mentioned that we have a LOT of beautiful open wall space, and have tried to avoid cluttering it with small pieces...  There are a few pieces we have our eye one but now is not the time to overspend so we made a cool chalk board that spices life up, and now I have discovered this gem.  The only question is, whose face or what scene do I want one story high in my dining room...

Awesome, inexpensive, personal, sizable wall art... one of my favorite finds this year... The rasterbator...

This is a good example of a close up feel for the final product.  I am not sure how I feel about the look the presentation but I like how you can see the pixelation (is that the right word even?)

I prefer the final product here... I am thinking about dry mounting ours so that we can frame it rather than tape it to the wall, but I really do like the look of it right on the wall.... not to mention who wouldn't want a giant John Voight flinching away from you in the living room.

I am loving the full wall use here... where are all the wild things??

By the way, New Mexico was amazing!  And the posts, they are a comin'.  Think green chillies, cowboy boots, tasty food, and mountains mountains mountains!

...time to get toasty...

Well, I am off for a long weekend to visit Mel and Gunter in New Mexico.  I am really excited to see them as well as the south west, the food, architecture, landscape, Georgia O'Keeffe,  art... I already think I want to move there.  I will bring back something fun to bloggy-blog!  Have a great weekend!!

...gone mad...

A funny little side note.  You may have heard about this show, it's kinda popular, people seem to enjoy it, it is called Mad Men...  I love when I hear, "that's so mad-men," in daily conversation now.  I came across an AMC website the other day where you can mad-men yourself and I couldn't resist.  Then when I showed Sean he made himself, it was hilarious to watch, but then I asked him to make me... daring I know but I was curious to see what features etc. he would pick....

This is my version of my mad-men self, dark hair up in a bun, "stately" (read large) nose, easy cloths and minimal accessories... coffee in hand!

Here is Sean's version of me!  I am shopping and drinking a cola, I would imagine he was thinking diet coke, although to my credit I haven't been drinking soda since last fall when I did my yoga teacher training, funny how we remember people though.  I also seem to be in the midst of someone's messy picnic, strange because I rarely throw random bones around with my checkers game and banana peels...  I think he gave me a much more traditionally attractive face, and darker hair, and I can only wonder about the kerchief... Overall a very amusing exercise with a loved one!

Here are some fun sites to check out that are so "mad-men..."

There are some fun finds here, like this beauty that come is size xs to 3x!  Unique Vintage

L.L. Bean Signature Line:  Some fun pieces in here, verrry preppy!

Target:  when you hunt, you can find vintage inspired pieces almost anywhere!

Enjoy the new season Mad Men fans!  Here is my handsome mad-man...  Do share any sites/places you love to vintage hunt on!

...bookity-book-book-book...

This goes out to all the book lovers in the house...  I have soo many books, and I am pretty sure I drive Sean rather crazy with them.  I think I mentioned before that his christmas wish may be that my christmas wish was for a kindle...  Unfortunatly for him what I really love are these Penguin Classics; designer, hardcover, linen cased, ribbon markers, glorious, beautiful, books... you get the picture.

With that, I bid you a wonderful weekend, we have two more generations of Delaney/ Gilboys coming in tomorrow so we have to finish a renovation project of our downstairs bathroom that I will share potentially next week.  I am also about to skye interview for a funny opportunity that will (if it works out) be blogged in the future.  Wish me lots of luck!

...the princess and the pea: part 2...

As promised, part two of the bedroom extravaganza!!  Are you barely holding on to the edge of your seat?  I know the suspense was killing me too...  I have to give a shout out to Target bedding now, these sheets are their organic ones, they are really soft, and being that we only have one set of bedding and these get washed and used each week I would say they are super sturdy!  We also have their 600 thread count sheets for our old/guest bed and I love them, they look and feel great.

Our very simple, possibly plain bed, I was hunting seriously for a deal/steal on some fun modern bedding but haven't found anything yet, and our bed (especially with the cow pillow) has grown on me...

...wrinkly sheets but GREAT pillow, again from Cost Plus World Market.  Here are some of my favorites that I have found...

Martin Bedding from 2Modern...

Walter Bedspread from 2Modern...

...another Walter permutation from 2Modern...

Square-Tuck Duvet from West Elm...

Sketch Duvet from West Elm...

This is blurry, but how cool is this Urban Mandala from CB2...

Casablanca Bedding from Target.

Mandala Bedding from Target...

Interestingly a lot of websites with my favorite bedding would not let me steal their images, the nerve!  I should send them a strongly worded e-mail to let them know this is free advertising... but I do think this is a pretty fun list.

Also!  Keep your socks on, but Viva Cindy and I are contemplating opening an etsy store for awesome modern duvets, pillow shams, and other fun things... we are in the brainstorming stages but rest assured I will keep you updated!

Happy Friday!

...the princess and the pea: part 1...

Well I have been lusting over new bedding since we moved to Georgia.  Our full bed in Seattle was made by Sean and his dad Russ, it is now the bed in our guest room and we have about seven sets of sheets for it.  Our new bed (that I fell in love with from macy's) is a queen bed and we have one set of sheets for it!  I have been perusing lots of different sites and stores for the perfect set and thought I would kick this off with beds, and follow up tomorrow with some of the beautiful bedding I have found... enjoy!

This is our bedroom set...

I fell in love with the lines and curves of the set.  In fact we had a serious hassle getting the bed from another state but I had my mind set to it, and I am really happy we have it.  Also please excuse our messy sheets.

And the dresser...

And the nightstand with my slippers hiding underneath... The wood is veneer and it has such an interesting sheen and grain, I wish I could say what it is but it is no longer available on Macy's site...  Here are some of my other favorites...

I really love the separate head rest pieces to this bed, it is sp simple and beautiful... Kyoto Bedroom Set.

Hello whimsy, I wish I had this bed when I was a little girl... or now... Under the Apple Tree Canopy Bed.  Also, this is another amazing Etsy find, I love Etsy.

If you have a little silver burning a hole in your pocket here is another option... Shawn Lovell Metalworks.

This set is from Room and Board, they have lots of beautiful furniture and much of it is made in the USA which rocks.  This was made in familiar Pennsylvania!  This is the Grove Bed...

Enter IKEA with their incredibly affordable and simple platform bed only $50...  FJELLSE Bed...

What can I say, I love the tradition iron bed... again from IKEA... LILLESAND bed...

So there is a nice array of beds and here is a teaser for tomororw!

It is soooo pretty... and Sean likes it, amazing.
